EARWAX REMOVAL TRAINING

Full H.I.D. or H.I.S. members in good standing are eligible to complete the program. Please note that while the removal of cerumen is within your scope of practice it is optional for both H.I.D. and H.I.S. members.

The new AHIP cerumen management certification program consists of a two-step process. The first step will have the applicant successfully complete the Cerumen Management online course through Pacific Audiology Group.

AHIP members will receive a 20% discount on their online cerumen management course. They must use the promo code AHIP20 at checkout to receive it.

Once the online course is completed and the applicant has passed the course, they proceed to step two.

The member will send proof of successful completion of the course and will then receive an application form from the AHIP office. The applicant will complete a set amount of cerumen extractions and complete the listed criteria with a qualified monitor. The monitor will sign off that they have successfully completed the extractions and listed criteria.

Once that is complete, the extractions and criteria will be verified by the AHIP Chair of Education, and the applicant will receive their AHIP cerumen management certificate for display and insurance purposes.

If you have any questions regarding policy or procedures, please do not hesitate to call the AHIP office.
