Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for an Audiologist/Hearing Instrument Specialist, based in Kingston, to join our provincial network of hearing health professionals. Reporting to the Manager, Hearing Healthcare Operations, the Audiologist/Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for the identification, assessment, and management of auditory difficulties, including dispensing of hearing aids, for children and adults.
This will be a permanent, full-time position working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
You have an advanced diploma from a Hearing Instrument Specialist college program and be a member of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario (AHIP) in good standing; or you would have a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Audiology, are registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and are an authorizer with the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) of Ontario.
You also have a minimum of 3-5 years’ related work experience that is complemented by your strong background in conducting diagnostic hearing evaluations and prescribing and dispensing hearing aids and FM systems. You can handle a busy clinical environment with the ability to manage a varied workload with competing priorities and deadlines.
Since you will provide education and counseling services for people experiencing hearing loss, you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and electronic clinical management, and NOAH software.

Hearing Instrument Dispenser/Specialist
Timiskaming Hearing Clinic is an independently owned dispensing audiology clinic providing exemplary hearing health care to the Kirkland Lake/New Liskeard and surrounding area for over 28 years.
The position is for 1 full-time equivalent (FTE) hearing instrument practitioner/specialist. The position will be predominantly located at our New Liskeard location(s) but travel to support the other locations will be expected based on demand.
The HIP’s role is to provide exceptional hearing health care services to clients under the Timiskaming Hearing Clinic umbrella, as well as supplement and support the Audiologists and staff in their roles.

While mastery of both spoken and written English is a must, strong consideration is awarded to candidates who speak multiple languages.
Previous clinical experience is an asset. Other important skills/knowledge include advanced understanding of clinic operations, computer and technology savvy, organized, prompt and being able to work well under pressure.
Daily tasks include patient relations such as hearing testing, hearing aid evaluation and consultation. Secondary tasks include answering and making phone calls, following up on leads, appointment reminders, invoicing and scheduling, managing outgoing letters, and keeping the office clean and tidy.
